Here and There Cables.
Well, I finally started something that has a fighting chance of getting finished....I've been in an unbelieveably fussy mood lately where everything I start gets frogged after the 4th or 5th row.
I started on Here and there Cables from Pam Allan's Scarf Style. Except that I'm making it out of Bulky Lambs Pride and I'm making it into a blanket for a baby that is about 3 months old.
I'm also working on Misty Garden using a great yarn that my sister brought for me from NYC. Its Noro in Aurora...and I just ran out of it...need one or 2 more skeins....fortunately I'll be in NYC for a couple of weeks and have def. plans to hit that place up.

a dark, itchy substance....
Lots of stuff....well, I completed my SP6 survey much too soon....I had a lesson in yarn-hate last night, that I didn't get to include in my survey....itchy dark skinny yarn....yuck!!! this is stuff that I bought from knitpicks and i really wish I hadn't. Knitpicks is great except for the fact that you can't touch the stuff, and it's so cheap that you buy a whole bunch of it. No more unknown Knitpicks for me darnit.
Other news....I also met a new friend yesterday...another newbie to SF and total yarn-monkey. So we're thinking of stating a 20-Somethings Knit Circle Stich n' Bitch type thing. So far we have 4 members total....so....if you're out there, and live in the Bay Area....and want to be in the circle of trust...sorry...those 5-year-old-movie-references pop up every once in a while....email: knottieknitter@hotmail.com

SP6 questionaire answers
Soooo fun!! My secret pal contacted me today and asked me to answer these questions. I've been wanting and wanting to be apart of a secret pal for sooo long, and I almost missed the boat with this one, but the kind ladies organizing SP6 were able to sneak me in after the deadline!!
1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
Unfortunately for my wallet (and my husbands sanity), I am a yarn snob. There. I said it. I only like acrylic if its in disguise.
2. Do you spin? Crochet?
I've tried both, but I don't have a wheel, so I can't do much spinning, and I really only crochet when I need to in my knitting projects.
3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
Yes, smoke and pets.
4. How long have you been knitting?
One year exactly.
5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
I don't have any online wish lists, I love surprises. My scents are plumeria and anything citrus-y. I also like how ginger smells with citrus scents.
6. Do you have a sweet tooth?
Yes, and they all have cavaties too.
7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
I love paper, photography, jewelry making, starting to sew, painting, cooking.
8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
World music, drum & bass, hip-hop, downtempo. But I'm totally open when it comes to music, I love learning about new music. Yes my computer plays MP3s.
9. What's your favorite color? Or–do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?
Oranges, reds, purples. I like all colors, really. I like how the Noro colors go together.
10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? What are your life dreams?
I live with my husband. I have some family that live in the same city and/or cities nearby. No pets, I'm about the only knitter on earth that's not into cats, but I want to get a fish and some plants soon, once we stop travelling for work so much. My life dreams are more day-to-day and constantly changing, but to sum it up, I am constantly working at being a good friend and wife/sister/daughter/grand-daughter, etc....I'm also interested in traveling and meeting new people. I would like to have children some day.
11. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
Not all at the same time, but I normally choose yarns that have one or two of these elements: Soft, chunky, color changing, sparkly, size changing (fat and then skinny, fat and then skinny), I love Noro.
12. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
I guess I just don't really like acrylic-plastic-ey feeling yarn. I don't like super-itchy wool either.
13. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
Frogging. I seem to frog everything I do. Kidding. I'm into cables, purses, scarves, entralac.
14. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
Scarves, but I'm starting to get a little board of that, I think I like it because its so quick.
15. What are you knitting right now?
A scarf. I'm going to start a cable knit baby blanket tonight.
16. What do you think about ponchos?
Not really into them.
17. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
Bamboo straight or circular. I prefer straight because the plastic wire gets in the way, but I often use circular because I travel a lot and it's easier to lose a straight needle.
18. Are you a sock knitter?
Not yet. Scared of socks.
19. How did you learn to knit?
An adult school.
20. How old is your oldest UFO?
6 months old.
21. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
I like Nemo. I love ant-eaters and turtles, and penguins.
22. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas.
23. Is there anything that you collect?
Foreign money (not formally, I just like to have it around to look at).
24. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
None yet.
25. Any books out there you are dying to get your hands on?
Hollywood Knits.
26. Any patterns you have been coveting, but haven't bought for one reason or another??
Not that I can think of. There was this pattern for a felted market bag made out of entralac that I thought was cool, but I can't remember where I saw it, or if it was in a book.
27. What are your foot measurements, and what kind of socks do you like?
I'm a size 9 shoe. I like fun socks, not made out of acrylic or polyester.

I'm back and I'm hitched!
well, after a few month hiatus....hot glueing little bows on favors...dealing with florists...saying my vows....and trekking the Indonesian countryside, I'm back and stichin'.
I started my return with a laid back pattern from scarf style, who's name I cant remember...but will post pics when I can with some yarn that my sister brought be back from her trip to NYC (she knows how to do it right!).
The yarn is Noro (Aurora), and it beautiful...dark colors with sparks of electic blue and intermitten strand of irridenscent fireworks spun throughout...I love it.
The extra good news is, I'm going to take a little trip to NYC, and will be stopping in the very same knit lounge where my sister found this little Noro gem, Knit New York.
